Bonnie Scott

My focus is primarily landscape. I continue to search for the most expressive ways to convey the energy and beauty of nature’s spaces. The joy of making the invisible visible, to reveal the unexpected and to open worlds of possibility to the eye and spirit remain a constant goal.

Whether in the studio or plein air painting, the vibrancy of color, the shimmer of forms and the excitement of life all serve to provide inspiration for my journey.

Bonnie Scott was born in Westlock, Alberta and moved to Edmonton at the start of her school years.

Her interest in fine arts has been a part of her persona as far back as childhood and her interests became increasingly stimulated when she began to travel and experience some of the many cultures of the world. The need to express art in her own way compelled her to paint and she studied with many well known artists in the countries she lived in. She lived abroad for almost twenty years, repatriating in 2000. Once back, she completed her Fine Arts Certificate at the University of Alberta in 2003 and has maintained a committed art practice since that time, working in both watercolor and oil mediums.

Bonnie is also a signature member of the Alberta Society of Artists (ASA) and aslo the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC)
